From the third paragraph of the acceptance letter - "We will be sending you a packet later this month with information about getting ready for your freshman year."

Yesterday I called the admission office and talked to one of the adcoms (Jim Coleman), and he said that there's no such packet coming this month. He indicated that the people who send out materials are on vacation and Janet Rapelye didn't tell the adcoms anything about a packet being sent out. He said maybe there's stuff coming in "the next couple months," but he's not even sure about that either.

So I guess there's nothing exciting coming from Princeton any time soon :( I hope I'm wrong.

Dang. And here I was hoping there'd be a nice little post-Christmas present when I got back home. Yalies got a free t-shirt, Harvarders and Stanfordites got awesome pre-frosh sites, and Princetonians got this: ___________________. Oh wait, forgive me. There was something after all. A bumper sticker. Nice.

Hmm I called the office again, and this time I talked to an adcom named Ms. McKenna, who said that THERE IS a packet being mailed out today or tomorrow. She said, "It's nothing spectacular." It supposedly contains a card that asks you to withdraw other apps, and an information booklet called a "UA."

So we would indeed receive this special packet "later this month."

UA = Undergraduate Announcement?
The course listing book.
Shucks. Is that all? Phil - I'm agreeing with you on this one :o. I wouldn't mind a P-ton T-shirt ;)

Anyone know if the info is expedited mail (UPS/Fedex) or Regular snail -->mail?

I got the packet today. It has the Undergraduate Announcement, Guide to Study Abroad, a letter from Janet Rapelye to the members of the Class of 2009 about registration etc. and the withdrawal card. At the back of the withdrawal card are the four conditions under which Princeton can withdraw its offer of admission...nothing special :(

package - about 6 1/2 x 9 1/2, white , postmarked Dec. 29th... should be getting yours soon...I live about 40 minutes from Princeton

I posted the 4 conditions last night but I deleted the post... didn't feel comfortable leaving them on the board.... Hope you saw them Hobbes, if not you will see them today or tomorrow.

The withdrawal card must be postmarked by January 14, 2005.

It's exciting to see the list of universities that we can choose to study abroad... hope I can take advantage of this program.

Oh, hehe. Well I haven't checked the mail in a week since I haven't been home, and I was going to go check. But seeing as you haven't received yours, I'll continue in my lazy bum state for now...
