I applied to both pretty late, but haven’t gotten emails from either school for alumni interviews. I did apply for weird majors for both, though, and I live in a big city, which may be why. I know the Cornell one isn’t evaluative so I’m not worried but I want an interview from Penn agh. Anyone else in the same boat?
By Penn I assume you mean UPenn. I actually interviewed with them last week but it was specifically for the Huntsman program for Wharton, so my guess is maybe the interview is offered based on if they have an alumni in your area from the specific school/program you applied to. Same thing with Cornell (I have it in 8 min lol), my alumn is from the Dyson school of business so it’a the same program.
Both of my alumn live in my general area so it could have to do with availability of alumn for your program, availability of alumn in your area, and when you sent in your apps. I was only offered interviews recently and I submitted all applications on Dec 27th. Hope this helps!
Omg good luck! I applied to arts and sciences for both so I think interviews are less crucial (I actually don’t have an interview for Cornell but rather just a “convo” with an alumni.) I’m hoping I get one by mid-feb. Recently had Duke interview that went well and I need more because my apps are rather rushed.
I just finished my Cornell convo and it was definitely more of a “you ask them questions” situation at least for me. I have one with Duke coming up on Saturday, (and actually an interview every day for the next week) so it seems like a lot of interviews are taking place around this time so I wouldn’t be too concerned.
Yeah I heard Cornell was more informative than evaluative so you’re fine. Duke was very informal so good luck!
My daughter is still waiting to hear from Penn. She did hear from Cornell alum this morning. I wouldn’t worry.
I see. Thank you!
