No recommendation letter from counselor/principal?

I'm an international student, we don't have guidance counselors here, so my principal should submit my transcripts and everything else. My principal doesn't speak English, she's also quite rude. Every time I try to ask something, she snaps back and starts yelling at me. Today she brought me to tears. Why does asking to submit a simple transcript feel like I'm asking her to move mountains for me?

That aside, does not having a written evaluation from my principal significantly affect my chances of getting accepted?

She would just check the box that she doesn't have enough time for writing a letter and that would be it.

As long as the form is submitted, you are fine. Colleges are used to receiving recommendations from GC’s that are not well thought out due to an overloaded GC or other reasons.

Thank you for your reply, @skieurope . I’m worried because colleges usually say that they require one recommendation from a school official and 1 or 2 from teachers. If there is no actual written recommendation, but the school report form is still submitted, will that cause them to throw away my application on grounds that it’s not complete?

No.

@skieurope, I’ve read that before. It seems that recommendation letters play an important role in the admission process, but it’s alright if they are brief and it’s explained why. Still, it’s sad, because I did quite a few things for the school that in my opinion would make my application better if she chose to write about them.
