No SAT Subjects and APs all in 4... Would sending this hurt my application?

Thank you, @college4many and @Memmsmom. I think “Holding back information felt dishonest and the thought was if Yale chose to deny based on the testing profile, it wasn’t the right place to be.” is pretty close to what I am feeling like doing right now. Also, thank you @TheoPKI. I will PM you whenever I have questions about the admissions process.

@ThomasKMJ, just wanted to let you know that this past cycle I helped a friend’s son with his applications. Yale was his first choice and he wanted to apply SCEA. I told him that despite his excellent grades (in the top 3-5% of his public high school class, but not the val or sal), I’d be shocked if he got in as an unhooked applicant because of his SAT scores, both of which—according to the Yale common data set—put him at or below the 25%…720 CR, 680 M (1400). His writing was a 780. His SAT2s were a a 730 bio, 740 us history, and I can’t remember his physics, but it was around the same. So very decent scores but not tippy top. He was deferred, thought about applying ED2 elsewhere, particularly bc the valedictorian and an athlete were admitted early and Yale rarely takes more than 2 students a year from our school, but so wanted Yale that he stuck it out. And he was admitted RD! No national or regional awards, no out of school ECs, no wow factor. Just a hard-working, smart kid who performed well in class, who very likely had super teacher and GC recommendations, and ECs that included co-editor in chief of newspaper, track, model UN, orchestra. I’m so glad he didn’t listen to me!!!

So moral of the story, apply and try not to stress about your scores, which probably meet the Yale threshold. It really is a holistic process. Best of luck.
