No Security Guard in Yale Dorms - ?

If i am wrong, correct me

What I'm saying is that the key cards replaced LOCKS and KEYS not guards at doors. The size of the Yale Police wasn't increased/decreased due to the adoption of key cards over brass keys fitting into brass locks. The gates had some form of lock on them when installed, not an officer acting as a doorman.

There were no guards there in the '70s. They probably employ more people to maintain those fancy-shmancy electronic gizmos.

Having security guards at the front door is like driving a car with a radar detector. You feel an unwarranted sense of protection and invulnerability and end up letting down your guard and getting a ticket. Or, in the case of dorm life, you don't keep yuor eyes open and don't kep the dorm buttoned up, and you end up losing your laptop to a derelict.

i live in new haven and while there is a good amount of crime, yale dorms are pretty safe. break-ins don't occur nearly as much as other things. the security guards really aren't necessary here..

I never knew there were KEYS and LOCKS in the dorms. I would be very bad at keeping that.
I know that the h has cards that have chips in them.
Great to know that there is tight security.
