No sociology classes?

I know they only have an anthropology major/minor, but I assumed that they would have at least some sociology classes. I wanted sociology as a minor but I’m fine with doing anthro. However, I plan to apply for med school and an intro sociology class is recommended for the new MCAT. But there isn’t even a general “Introduction to Sociology” class in the school. I only see Microsociology and Advanced Microsociology. Am I just looking in the wrong place or is this true?

If this is true, is microsociology close enough to general sociology?

The sociology topics covered on the MCAT are covered in other UR courses, particularly by Intro the US health system (Public Health 116).

Try looking at the Public Health minor called Health, Behavior and Society. It’s a minor that deals with social & societal issues in medicine.
