anyone choosing LSU-honors college over "better schools" for financial reasons?

Doesn't anyone else ever post in this forum? ;-)

The answer is yes, look like we are. Deferred at Wash U, rejected at Rice, haven't heard from Emory (but not selected for Emory Scholars $), accepted at Rhodes, accepted at Centenary (Louisiana, not New Jersey), accepted at LSU.

are you in the honors college? are you going to go to LSU? right now i'm accepted at University of Richmond, University of Illinios--urbana and waitlisted at University of Virginia. ((accepted at LSU-honors))

Not me, I'm too old. My son, however, is a different story. 99% chance going to LSU. Will be in honors college. Probably starting at LSU in June as one of his scholarships requires a "summer bridge." Will have to get ahold of LSU about placement testing and fall registration as he isn't going to the Spring Invitational (or whatever they call it) this next week.

ohh okay, that's cool. yea i'm not going to the spring invitation either because i didn't know i was even considering LSU until the waitlist came from uva and the finaid packages came from all my other schools. Best of luck to you and your son.!

I was accepted at:
Univeristy of Miami
American university
TCU
SLU
University of Central Arkansas
University of Arkansas
Rockhurst
Loyola in New Orleans
amongst others....with reasonable scholarships to each
I really wanted to go to Loyola, but the hurricane left them with budget shortfalls and they are reorganizing the whole school to make up for it, which means its not worth me going into debt for (scholarship was only half the 30 grand)

so dun dun dun...lsu, financially, and bc i love south la....plus im doing honors and wanting to save money for law school
