rejected & not tab

Can someone please explain what all this ‘tab’ speak is about? The number of tabs etc?
What’s a tab? Where are they found?

Thanks

Look at that. Those six are the tabs.

No tab, waitlisted.
But hey, I thought I was going to be rejected, so that’s a plus!

No tab, waitlisted also.
I was on the verge of tears on my way home from school. I’m over it now though. Goodbye Boston College…

Why do you say that? They say they have 2000 waitlisters, and admit 50 to 300, with the economy the way it is and i’m sure not all those kids on the waitlist would accept a spot, i would say there’s a better chance than you thought. I’m keeping my head up high =)

Don’t worry - this college admissions business can be quite sporadic and uneven at times. I got in with “just passable” credentials. Hopefully another school (which is even better than BC, maybe!) took you in, celestialxx.

The fact that you go to college trumps where you go.

just roughly doing the numbers i would say that the acceptance rate off the waitlist is 15% which actually isn’t too bad if you think about it

Yeah seriously, and considering the fact that we’re NOT in as of now, even another chance is 100% better than being rejected. Although as it says in the letter, “this option further extends the anxiety of the college admission process…”

i was tabless. i got rejected.

no tab = reject

Tabless and waitlisted. I was an EA deferral with no FA. I really thought that this was a safety.

i’ve moved on. Acceptances at U Richmond, Colgate and others. I’m thrilled with those. BC is in my backyard and I would like a little change of scenery.

Good luck to everyone on the waitlist!!

I think we’ve determined there is an absolute correlation between the tab and admission decision. BC kind of dropped the ball, didn’t they?

No tab. Rejected.

No tab, waitlisted.

I’m…surprised. It was always a super reach.

heyy what if i NEVER applied to financial aid?
i only have 5 tabs and NO financial aid award tab…
im also an international student living in the US if that helps…
does that mean im rejected?

Those who didn’t apply for aid still got the tab. Sorry to say, it looks like your chances aren’t very good… :(

Not trying to sound like an idiot but I have the famed sixth tab, it just says “You currently do not have an award notification to view. Please check your financial aid application status at http://www.bc.edu/finaidapp to determine if any application requirements are still outstanding.” when I click on it. Is that still a good sign or does there have to be something after the link for it to mean anything?

It’s normal. If you have that sixth tab, it’s a good sign that you got in.

And FYI, financial aid awards are being released next week.

Thanks! Even if I still won’t be able to relax until that envelope gets here…
