No tuition deposit?

I just went to the admission confirmation/tuition deposit page merely to look it over and maybe even confirm that I will be attending without paying. However, it said that the $200 tuition deposit was waived.

" The Office of Admissions has waived your tuition deposit. Please let us know if you plan to attend the University of Florida. If you do not enroll in your appointed term, your offer of admission will be forfeited."

Has anyone else tried this? Did you have to pay?

where is it located on the site?

UF Admissions

This is what it says "Financial Hardship Arrangements

If you have demonstrated financial need, you may make arrangements with the Office of Admissions to waive or to reduce the tuition deposit. Generally, if you have received SAT or ACT fee waivers and if your UF application fee was waived, you may receive a tuition deposit waiver as well. However, you must confirm your intention to enroll before the May 1 deadline."

I never notified the Office of Admissions about anything regarding my financial situation and I have never applied for a SAT or ACT waiver. I also haven't submitted FAFSA

I also had my deposit waived. I never filled out my FAFSA or notified them of anything, but i have used SAT waivers. I guess just like they found out about my ACT without me telling them, they also found out about my waivers. =D anyways im extremely happy

Are we supposed to confirm this if we're still waiting on other colleges? I'd like to get everything done and over with for my UF application, but I don't want to jump the gun.

no, you dont confirm it till you are 100% sure that you are going to UF.

Is there anyone else that has checked if your deposit is waived?

I just checked the status of my application and it acknowledges my "payment" of the tuition deposit as well as my confirmation of enrollment. It also says that I will be able to use the money from the tuition deposit for fees and tuition.

Mine was waived =) Makes sense, I used an SAT fee waiver and I'm dirt poor. Sweetnees! Anyone know if by accepting now I already get my UF email and can like start with class enrollment etc?

ALREADY GOT MY UF HOODIE TODAY!!! Wearing it every day 'til school is out =)

I got a Gator shirt today, & a decal for my car XD

victorm, where did you buy your hoodie?

fabi0lita, I got mine at Foot Locker at Wellington Mall in West Palm Beach. They also had them at Champs and Finish Line, but only Foot Locker had it in small which I needed it in (got the last one)...they seem to stock up on XXL and XXXL but not many M's or S's. They had a couple of M's at Foot Locker as well, my friend got the last one at Champs. Champs has them for 19.99 and Foot Locker has 'em for 29.99! I'm loving mine :D:D:D

haha I was about to ask where you got your hoodie too. My parents went out and got me a bunch of Gator stuff last night, but the shirts and sweaters and stuff were huuuge. Hopefully I'll find a hoodie somewhere this weekend. I'll try Foot Locker tomorrow. :)

I went to Foot Locker, Champs (I think?) and Finish Line @ the mall today ... and they didn't have ANY hoodies...all they had were FSU & UMiami.... ehh...

Hey, why don't you guys make a UF hoodie thread? B-U-M-P!!!! lol

well I'm sure the ones at the Wellington mall had tons of em but mostly in xxxl or xxl.. There were a few mediums, mine was the only small - a grey one at foot locker. Also got an adhesive for my car now and next a license plate frame :)))))

Hey, um back to the topic, guys ^_^
What about for the transfers? Do you need to pay a tuition deposit if you are a transfer?
