<p>I can't seem to figure out whether or not Stanford set hard word limits for its short takes about favorite books, authors, films and musical artists and the one about newspapers and publications. My answers are approximately 130 words long. </p>
<p>What did you guys do? Do you think my answers are too lengthy?</p>
<p>I’m no admissions officer, but I would say those are far too lengthy. Mine are all fewer than 50 words. I would try to distill those lists into what you care most about and try to pack a big punch with few words.</p>
<p>I asked around and most people do about 4-5 things for each category. After all, it’s unrealistic to have 20 movies as your “favorite.”</p>
