anyone know much about that crazy, annual Rice party known as Night of Decadence?

I was there. It was certainly crazy. What do you want to know, specifically?

No one will force you to do anything that you don't want to do - but that night, you can do most anything that you want to do. If you are a little wary, you can be security - that's what a lot of the freshman do. You can also be a caregiver if you are into that.

what is it? =)

NOD is a themed party on halloween, held by Wiess College. This year's theme was "NOD bless America: choose your position" in honor of the then-upcoming election. Last year it was "NODdy or nice" a holiday type theme. Essentially, people try to dress up to go with the theme while wearing as little as possible. Once, Playboy ranked NOD as one of the top ten college parties, if that gives you any idea. Essentially, it's a lot of sweaty, drunk people in very little clothing dancing on tables. One of the most interesting things about NOD is seeing that nerdy kid from chemistry or whatever in just his boxes, or that girl who never speaks up in your discussion in a thong.

Each year a few people do things that they regret. If you go to NOD, and most people do (even though it costs like $8 if you aren't security or caregiving), just be responsible.

If you don't think it sounds that amazing, you can always be security - they get free t-shirts and free admission, or caregiving - which could be an interesting introduction to the students of Rice EMS (actually, though, I was a designated caregiver and I didn't do anything.)
