Noisy Neighbors and Insomnia

I'm currently a junior who moved into a dorm that it supposed to be for honors and students who want quiet study. But unfortunately I signed up for a room with a floor of almost completely all freshman. I get along with my roommate but my neighbors often have boys over late at night and from Thursday-Sunday my next door neighbors play there music too loud or too loud in the early hours of morning even though the curfew is at 1:00 AM. Almost every weekend my neighbors throw parties and the bass it too loud. I talked with the RA about it but there really wasn't a solution The neighbors will ignore our knocking and will only quiet down when we have to call the RAs. In addition the neighbors play there music loud sometimes even around noon and talk loudly.

As a result this has offset my insomnia and haven't been able to fall asleep because of my living situation, midterms, and interview. I plan to see the doctor and talk with the housing director about this situation. But I can't fall asleep lately and it's affecting my academic performance and mental health.

I don't know what to do?

I think the only way to get them to stop is to beat them at their own game. Get powerful subwoofers and drown out their bass with your bass. They’ll stop soon enough.

This. So hard. You’ve tried talking to them, which is super important. If they don’t care, it’s time to show them what a pain it is. I’ve dealt with this a few times through my college and it never fails to turn on Metallica and blast it as loud as you can. I have an X Rocker chair that actually has pretty nice sound. Despite when asking fails (try it anyways first), the noise from them almost always stops after one or two songs. I’ve tested this with a few different neighbors from different dorms.
