I read on another post here at CC about a student receiving a nomination from their high school to attend Duke - or something like that. I don't know or understand the details..

it sounded like a program whereby the high school says to Duke, "you may have 10 students applying from our school, but we are endorsing Student X"

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and how I can find out more about it?

Thank you -

yea a couple people told me something very similar having to do with the BN Duke Scholarship though, i asked m y guidance counselor though, and she had no idea what i was talking bout. she never did anything like that, unless something has changed this year

The only thing I have heard of that's similar is a major scholarship like the Morehead at UNC or the Belk at Davidson, where high schools can choose to nominate one or two applicants. I know Duke doesn't do this for admission, and I don't think it does it for scholarships.

You're recommended to fill out the supplement forms if you're interested in the Robertson/BN Duke/Trinity/etc. scholarships, though.
