nomination interview

i applied for nomination and i heard that theres going to be an interview for those who meets the min. requirement. i live in the area where maritime or USMMA aren't popular. There was only one person U.S merhchant Marine Academy as his first choice in my district and i think there's going to be none this year. i meet the requirement b/c i have over 1200 on SAT (over 600s on both section) and GPA is 3.0. Here's my question, if i applied for USMMA as my first choice and no one is choosing USMMA as their first choice even though i kind of messed up in interview do i still get the nomination?

What do you mean by "Kind of messed up" your interview. There isn't really a "Right or Wrong" interview. They are trying to determine the "True" candidate that you are. Determine your motivation, motives, desires, etc...

But to answer your question; if your representative only has one candidate but they don't feel comfortable nominating them, they don't have to nominate anyone.

So, is the Merchant Marines your first choice and what you want? The reason I ask, is because I know of a couple of people who have applied to the Coast Guard academy because all they cared about was the "Free Education" and the Coast Guard doesn't require a nomination. If you really have Merchant Marine as your first choice and you are the only candidate; and your grades are good and the nominator can see your desire, then you should be good. You might find out that while you think your interview was messed up, the interviewer might have thought that it was fine. Good luck. Later... Mike....

I thought I messed up on my Rep's interview and nailed the Senator's, but I got the Nom from my Rep. and a rejection letter from my Senator.
