Hi all, just submitted my ED app to Colby and I could not be more excited. I just have a quick question regarding Colby’'s social scene. Could someone provide some insight on the social life at Colby for those who aren’t on a varsity sports team (seeing as 70% of Colby students play a sport, I’m curious about whether non-athletes and athletes interact often with each other or not, and if there’s overlap between social groups)? Do student athletes at Colby often attend non-sports related events on campus? f I get accepted, I plan on getting involved with the Outing Club and possibly the cycling team, but most likely not a varsity sports team even though I run XC in high school. Any perspectives would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
If you go to Colby 's website to team rosters and start clicking on the bios of athletes, you’ll see that most are involved in other activities from a capella groups to the outing club to volunteer organizations, etc. Most smaller schools value students who are multi-faceted; if everyone did only one thing, there would be very little going on!
