Non-custodial finances and step-parents

Hello!

I’ve just realized that a few of the schools I am applying to have some different requirements for non custodial financial information. Lehigh, for example, only requires non custodial information if the custodial parent has not remarried. Since my father has remarried, I will only need his and my stepmother’s information. Similarly, Duke only requires my biological parents’ info and does not take step-parents into account. “If either parent has remarried, any spousal income information will be excluded from the analysis.”

I hope that this is actually true, but since I am getting this information straight from the colleges’ websites, I’m pretty certain.

Obviously, the colleges that do this are in the minority. Even if there are only a few schools that do this, however, it is still very exciting news. Do you know of any other schools that have special stipulations like this that would not require all of four of my parents’ information? Thank you!

Wow! I’ve never seen that before…cool!

However, keep in mind that any child support paid by your mother must be included on both the fafsa and the profile
