Non-Custodial PROFILE question

I applied to a college requiring the Non-custodial PROFILE, and even though my non-custodial parent will not be contributing monetarily, I was denied financial aid based on this form. Is there a solution? Is there some legal documentation that can allow me to get around this ugly inaccuracy? If you have any experience, I'd be glad to hear.

Did the non-custodial parent fill the PROFILE out and makes too much $$ for you to get aid? I wasn't clear on that from your post.

But if that's the case, you should probably try to go to a school that only accepts FAFSA, or one where the cost of attendance is low. Schools that accept CSS/Profile usually try to treat all students with two parents as if both parents will be contributing. Many students with married parents also have one or both parents who refuse to pay for college and those students must also make difficult choices.
