Non-impacted majors

What are some non-impacted majors at UCLA?

Something rare. Interior decorating.

Not dance or drama; it's not impacted but very competitive and requires auditions.

Interior decorating? Yea, I did hear of that before? Would acceptance to UCLA be easier if people applied under non-impacted majors?

No, the official policy of UCLA is that they do not consider majors in acceptance in the College of Letters and Sciences. They do not fill quotas per major. But you should select a major that your academic record and ec's reinforce.

Are you serious? Oh geez....You see I'm currently a junior in HS and I'm pretty average, but not too low or anything. My GPA is not that high, its around a 3.7 UW and 4.1 W or something like that. I'm really hoping that its not just all about class rank and GPA's. I'm pretty sure I could do well on my SAT I and SAT II's. I don't know....its the day after finals and grades are worrying me and I wonder if I'll never get in anywhere....Oh the angst...Sorry for the ranting....

The majors in the College of Letters and Sciences aren't impacted in the context of admissions, just course enrollment/dropping, etc.

Underwater basket-weaving.

just course enrollment/dropping, etc.

this is true

::grumble:: friggin poli sci classes...

How about Math?

math is a fad =P

my roommate is a math major

(sucker)
haha

It's sad when even members of the Chess Club go: "man, those math majors are nerds."

;)

Mathematics majors often are one of the smallest graduating classes, right?

And you don't want to major in math if your scores and classes don't support it.

Major in something you're interested in; don't become the admission committee's whore.

Hey, nothing wrong with the Chess Club.

Dude majoring in math doesn't imply you're a nerd rollseyes --> I am one example! :D I hope few ppl apply for math so yeah...
