<p>I consider myself a science-y person, but as a rising sophomore, I'm thinking about having a non-science major (not because I think it'll help/not help for med school etc). My only concern is: what if I don't get into any med schools or only get into ones that I don't want to go to? Then, I'll have to do a year or two of extra research and re-apply. My question is: as a non-science major (say, history), will I be able to do research after college? Considering that I would have been doing research all throughout college (ideally). Or wait...do labs/PI's not like non-science majors?! Someone give me some insight...:(</p>
<p>You wouldn't have to do research, and in any case your prior research experience would matter more than your major.</p>
