I have already been accepted to stony brook under the undecided major. I probably don’t want to major in any of the STEM fields and I heard that SBU is really only good for STEM majors
I’m really only considering SBU because my parents don’t want me to travel too far for college and the cost is good compared to other schools
Any thoughts for non STEM students?
People think of us as a STEM school, and there’s obviously good reason for that; but realistically, one of the great things about our size is the wealth of non-STEM opportunities that are available to you as well. It depends on your specific focus (social science, art/humanities, etc.) but you’ll find lots of opportunities both in and out of the classroom. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

Hey, I’m still waiting to hear back from stony brook for the undecided major. I have a couple questions if you don’t mind answering. When did you hear back? SAT scores/ grades? Clubs/Sports/Volunteering? Also congrats on being accepted!
