<p>Hi! I really want to get a recommendation from my boss at work, however, I've been wondering how exactly I do that for the Common App. Does my boss have to follow the structure that the teachers do or can he just write up a rec and have me attach it to the additional info section? Thanks!</p>
<p>I would have him write it up and attach it to the “additional info” section. However, some colleges like getting them different ways - check the individual websites.</p>

<p>@OP: I would have him or her write it, print it out, sign/seal it, and then mail it in. Why? Because how will he had it to the “additional info” section, without you seeing it? And if you do, how do colleges know you haven’t messed with the document (all add-ons to the common app are electronic, i believe, since you upload files off of your computer)?</p>
