Supposing I wanted a recommendation from someone who's not a teacher - a mentor, for instance, not attached to any particular subject. Specifically, I have two recommendation forms in my MIT application, one for Math/Sci and one for Humanities; neither seem to fit what I'm looking for. What should I do?

I'm pretty sure you need both a science/math and humanities teacher to at least write those 2 recs. You can have your mentor submit a supplementary rec if you want, that's what I'm going to do with one of my senior teachers. I'm not sure though.

Oh and zoogies, put your name on the EARoster thread in the MIT forum :D :D

Yep, I have those two already, but I would like to submit a third. Is there supposed to be a form for "supplementary recommendations," or do they not need one, and just send in a letter?

Will do :P

Nope not a form, but you can use just the common app one or just send in a letter!
