Will a nontraditional transfer student feel out of place at cmc? How are they generally treated by the younger student body and the faculty?

CMC parent here-

D says she has had classes with some students in the 23-27 year old range. Some were transfers, or had family issues and were returning etc. She says that the faculty love them because they tend to really have it together and have something to add.

She said that it is no problem with the students but she doesn’t think they tend to ‘party’ with the younger set…there are plenty of other activities to keep them busy. (Then again, she doesn’t really party either!) She has known those that lived in the apartments and some in singles.

She said she has even had classes at CMC and Pomona (especially Religious Studies) where she has had a retiree or two auditing, which has made things interesting. They are very well received.

Hope that helps.
