How strict is UChicago about dropping of grades? For example, is having 2-3 C's from essentially straight A's with the occasional B+ going to get someone's offer of admission rescinded?

I know there are threads about this type of question, but that was with Ted O'Neill, I believe.

Short answer: No.

It probably won’t even be noticed.

Alright, cool. Thanks.

So, is it basically just important to have above a 3.0 unweighted after being accepted EA? Even if one grade is a C?

I hate to be the old fart always voicing the unpopular opinion (yeesh, I’m only a third year), but if I were you I would just try to keep up the work I did in high school, albeit relax the tension considerably. So do study for a big test the night before, but no need to sweat it. And obviously don’t even think about studying before then.

Every now and then people will ask for relics of your high school years (I believe McKinsey still asks for your SAT scores, as does CAPS) and I’ve heard stories about high school GPA’s as well. What I’m trying to say is, don’t let yourself go off the deep end. Even if cautionary tales about acceptances getting rescinded due to senioritis have no basis in reality, I’d say a bit of extra effort (not too much, of course) is a reasonable price to pay for maintaining a decent high school record.
