congrats! do you know whats next after being named a finalist?

You have to go through a panel interview.

Does anyone know anything about the interview process? Also, does this scholarship tend to go to minority applicants?

I just heard back today. Anyone else form Washington/Alaska?

Whats the Phone Number or Caller ID Name that shows up when they call you to
let you know you are a finalist?

the decision is via phone!?!?

I won too! This thread must’ve been a good luck charm! Congrats everyone =)

My son was called back as a finalist for the Nordstrom scholarship. They emailed while we were out of town on East Coast college visits. We cut the trip short to get back on a Friday for the interview. Despite the scholarship being advertised as a “merit” scholarship, awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, leadership, etc., etc., the committee was chaired by the Vice President of Diversity for Nordstrom, and a second committee member was from the Diversity Affairs Office. Guess what???

If they want to give away minority scholarships, they should advertise it as such and not waste the time of kids who have very few scholarships to go after that are actually awarded based on their own hard work and achievement. As for me, I’ll spend my money at Mark Shale and Von Maar.

^ It does say “financial need”. I made “finalist” for two scholarships. I didn’t get either one. The other finalist had greater need.
