I was thinking of doing one of the Special Living Options in North. Everyone seems to say that North isn't a good place to live as a freshman, but I am looking for an environment that is not as crazy as East. Is this a good plan? Also, anyone else thinking about living in North?

If you don’t get in the SLO. Go for Pollock since you don’t want east.

I have friends living in North right now and they seem to like it. The only problem is you’re kind of isolated in the suites, so you might not get as close to people in your floor as you do in other areas. The suites are so nice though and if you stay there in later years you are really close to a lot of your academic buildings.

the fact that the suites are a lot nicer is a huge factor, especially the private bathrooms. location is great, and I agree that meeting people is going to be harder. It seems like the SLOs are really good, especially since there’s one related to my major. it’s a tough decision.

What are the chances of me getting a suite in the north halls if i make it the priority on my eliving housing app?

well the three SLOs are business and society, earth house, and art and architecture. so if your major fits in any of those, you probably have a pretty good chance. otherwise, I’m not sure.
