North mountain dorm rooms

If anyone here is knowledgable about these rooms, can anyone tell me how much space there is underneath the beds to store containers and what not? Like 6-10 inches height would fit?

The housing web site has the dimensions listed. The bedframe ht. listed for the North Mountain dorms is 16 inches. I know for Yosemite, the bedframes are lower (12").

I have been inside the room of a student there. There is the 16 inches under the beds if they are not lofted or bunked. The closet had no doors, so the boys had a plastic drawer-type chest and bins on the top shelf. They had a small bookshelf type thing that was in the room as well. There was a lot of space between the bed and the window where the desks are. Definitely some room for rolling drawers in corners of the room. These were my son’s 2nd choice. Nice open feel and large picture windows.

There are a couple of you-tube videos which give you a glimpse of the inside of the dorm rooms for the North Mountain Dorms–if you search Cal Poly + Dorms. It looks as if the closets do not have traditional doors, but that they may have an accordion-type sliding barrier? Does any one know if these still exist in the rooms? Also, the furnishings look different depending on whether you have a double or triple. The you-tube video that’s entitled “Whose dorm room is it?” shows some messy rooms! Funny, all clothes seem to be on the floor__many shots where closet was completely empty!

I actually stayed a weekend in april at one of the north mtn rooms (Shasta to be exact) and they do still have the curtain style closet cover…I can’t remember how high the beds were tho. ah well.

Thanks for the youtube tip
