Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you are looking for a campus with broad lawns, rolling hills, an arboretum and a pond, you might like Indiana University in Bloomington. If you want a green suburban campus, BC. If you want a green urban campus, Northeastern. If you want no campus, BU or NYU.

Don’t get me wrong, I happen to like Northeastern. I agree with TomsrOfBoston that it is in the eye of the beholder. The online tour does nothing to show the true area. When you get to subway or starbucks you will be in the store with people on lunch breaks, tourists, etc Not just NE students. When you walk around the area the local population will also be walking around the same areas - Not just NE students.
Obviously most people on this site love Northeastern and all it has to offer but you need to visit before you make this your home for 4yrs.

If you like the city but also like a campus feel, NEU is perfect. It is the perfect mix of a college campus and city life.
