Northeastern Chances

Attended Public School (2004 Grad)
Applying to Northeastern University for the Business Program (Spring 09)
GPA: 2.0 (3.4 the first two years, had some family and personal problems the last 2, obviously)
SAT: 04/2003 1090 560R 530M, 01/2005 1190 630R 560M
Recommendations: I could get HS Teacher/counselor recommendations again but I also more current ones from my superiors. All of them would be good.
Work experience: 3 years grocery store, 4 1/2 years of Army Special Operations
Cross Country, Indoor Track, Spring Track -- Captain
Multiple combat rotations

Financial Aid won't be too much of a problem, between myself and my parents to help out if need be.

Would I be considered as an adult or 'continuing studies' student? I have a current friend from HS that is about to graduate from their engineering program. I have attended many of his classes when there was a spare seat and have a good feel for the university.

I'm trying to establish a link with the admissions office, but I'm not having too much success.

Any suggestions?

Not a chance in the slightest unless they somehow disregard the issues.

Hmmm...interesting. I've heard the argument go both ways from different people. Some say they consider the 'whole person' and not a chance in hell. Guess I'll just have to apply to see.

Anybody else?

Anybody else have experience with Northeastern at all?

it's a bit of a long shot...since your SAT and Gpa are kinda on the lower side..and you don't really have excellent ECs that would make up for it..

Yeah...I'll just be prepared to transfer after a year or so at a CC then.

Still worth a shot though.

I don't see a chance either. I know people with much better stats who were rejected. However, it never hurts to take a chance. Good luck!

maybe your military service will overshadow your weaker stats. Good luck to you.
