Northeastern Fall 2013 Transfer Page

Evry1, your materials have only been in for about two weeks. many of the people who were accepted and some of the people who are still waiting have had their things in for a month or more. i submitted my application on february 15th. be patient. and try being happy for those who have been accepted so far, rather than bitter that you haven’t been yet.

Hello all I was wondering if you guys could chance me!!!
I am currently a freshman at a small liberal arts college double majoring in Criminal Justice and Legal studies and I am applying to Northeastern for Criminal Justice and hopefully a double major in computer science and planning to minor in Arabic.

Highschool gpa: 3.3
Current gpa: 3.625
I volunteered a lot for EC and I was also on the track team.
I also had strong recommendation letters from my professors

I was rejected when I applied as a freshman and I and hoping to get in this time!!!

Wait? why doesn’t gpa transfer?

Phosho, how was your personal statement and what are your mid-term grades looking like?

@ajax16
In my personal statement I talked about how I had depression in high school and how I overcame it and how passionate I was about criminal justice. I stated that I wanted to transfer because I wanted to minor in Arabic and my current college does not offer it . I also spoke of the co-op program and I wanted to be more challenged.

In my mid-term grades, 2 of my professors gave me P for passing because they didn’t know my grade because it was too early however, all my other professors gave me A’s as a grade so my mid-term report looks pretty good

@Phosho Well you seem solid to me. Schools loves when you state how the school (NEU) is the only school you would want to attend and how their bread and butter the co-op program will help you succeed in life. How long has it been since your app has been complete?

Thank you @ajax16! I submitted my application on march 31st, kind of late but just in time before the 1st. I also applied to BU for the computer science program there.

I’m going to call sometime soon to make sure my current school sent everything in on time (my current school did not like it when I told them I wanted to transfer but more than half do after freshman year)

@Phosho Well best of luck to you :)

So were we supposed to apply for the business school when we were applying as transfers? I am kind of stressing right now because I want to go to the business school but I have no idea how I’m supposed to apply. I have looked on the website and it was really confusing.

^ use the common app
there is an option to select your major

So if anything how would I check the application status page to see if I got accepted or not before getting a email or letter

you would do exactly that. you log in and check

@Evry1lovej apparently the status page will be different with things like “You’re a Husky now!” type of message if you get in. i’m still waiting for my notice…

And if you get denied lol? Just worried that I got denied because my application still has NEU logo on top.

Ive had all my documents in since oh i dont know, October. Still havent heard back. So to those who are complaining after only a few days or weeks, think twice about complaining…

Evry1, if you’re so worried perhaps give transfer admissions a phone call to check the status of your application. It’s a patient waiting game otherwise.
Jmasterson, yikes I hope you get in after having to wait so long…

I actually called an it sounds like I got accepted

@Every1lovej only sounds like you did? what do you mean? just curious

i don’t know if they would tell you that over the phone if you haven’t been sent an official acceptance notification

Lets put it this way. I called and I asked if it was a positive or negative decision and they said when you receive your email you’ll be very happy
