So I'm applying to NEU for Fall 2013, and I haven't seen a page like this, so I figured I would start one.

Feel free to post why you're interested in transferring to NEU, application questions, academic/EC/test statistics, etc. I really hope this can become a central spot for all transfer applicants.

I am currently a freshman at Penn State. I'm from RI, and I am really interested in NEU due to its urban setting, size, and great academic programs. Hope to have all my application info in by early/mid March.

im also applying to transfer this fall. Freshman at UMass Amherst and currently in the business school. My first semester GPA will be a 3.1 but i had mono which I will explain in the common app. High school stats were less than stellar , 3.63 gpa and superscore of 1740 on SATs. I’m applying to the music industry major and hoping my ecs will help me out (2 years of volunteer firefighting, ulead volunteer at my school, programming board, student government, organizing local music festival for this summer and working on New Jersey’s first “jersey shore music festival”). Very nervous to apply!!!

I am also applying hoping to major in behavioral neuroscience! My first semester at my local college here in Georgia was only a 3.4 so hopefully I can get a perfect 4.0 next semester!

Hey, I’m also applying to NEU for the fall. Freshman at Umass Lowell, undecided but I’m applying as an international affairs major. First semester GPA was a 3.63, did okay in high school. I’ll have 24 credits by the end of spring semester, do you guys know if I’ll have to submit my high school transcripts or no? Was involved in a lot of theater and art clubs in high schools as well as two years of volunteering, and planning on doing some this semester.

No you don’t have to submit your High school transcripts. You do however have to submit the mid-term report to let NEU know you plan on earning more credits this spring.

I’m trying to decide whether or not to transfer. I’m a freshman at Washington University (in St. Louis). I turned down a scholarship to the honors college at NEU and sort of regret it now. I love Washu but it doesn’t have the greatest social scene/I haven’t really found my place and I really want to be studying music industry because that’s what I want to do and am not sure if I’ll get the chance from here. Thoughts? Anyone know how the social scene is for transfers?

Also does anyone know if you can transfer into the honors college? or if they still give good scholarships?

My fiance and I are both applying for transfer. I have a 3.7 GPA and she has a 3.2 GPA. We are both 24 and live in California, we have both attended a well respected community college. We will both have more than 45 credits by the end of the spring. Our big hook is our work experience. We both have 5 years of multi level and multi site retail management. I was hired as the youngest store manager hired by a fortune 100 company and she was the first cashier promoted to regional manager in her company. My other big hook is that I was diagnosed with severe narcolepsy my senior year of high school. Obviously it’s a fairly debilitating disease and i have a pretty good essay about overcoming adversity.

I am also applying to BC, Bentley, Umass Amherst, and Babson. I am applying as a business administration major with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in law or management

She is also applying to BU, Umass, and Tufts. She might be applying undecided. Definitely applying to the health sciences.

Chances? She is set on Northeastern and hopefully her work experience will mesh well with their coop fundamentals.

I definitely think you guys have a good shot. Great GPA with a 3.7, good GPA with a 3.2, and I agree that the work experience blends well with the school. A unique situation that blends well with Northeastern’s educational philosophy, I would think you have a good shot.

Thanks theomos what do you think my chances are for the other schools? I have a slight in at BC, my grandfather was the hockey coach there for almost 15 years, 3 uncles went there and one of them donates a few million a year. I still think I will get rejected. I classify BC as my high reach, Bentley has a low reach, Northeastern as a solid chance (say 80 percent) and umass as my safety.

Hi so i am also applying to NEU, from UC Irvine. I am currently a freshmen. I received a 3.56 GPA my first quarter and i am involved in a lot of EC’s. I just sent my application this past weekend, what do you guys think my chances are? and i havent received any information form NEU that they received my app, i just go the email from common app

do you guys know if we can start sending in our transfer applications for next fall yet? I was under the impression that the first day was February 1st

i am looking to transfer to northeastern in the fall and i was wondering what you think my chances are. i am currently a sophomore at assumption college and i have a 3.4 GPA. i am looking to transfer into the school of business.

yeah, I am also curious of the same. I am a transfer student at a community college and have a 3.2-3.4 depending on what classes they will exactly take for transfer. I want to get into the business school. What are my chances? does being from California help? And does anyone know how their transfer process is?

Hey Guys! I’m also an international student currently going to a small college in Boston and applying to Northeastern… so what do you guys think NEU looks for a transfer candidate? Good luck for we all!

Major: applying to Journalism

Year: first semester of sophomore year

HS GPA: no idea because I went to school outside US, but my grades were basically C’s and B’s

College GPA: so far a 4.0

SAT: not submitting

ACT: not submitting, but I have a 26

TOEFL: 106 out of 120

ECs: some experiences abroad… but not that many

Recommendations: I believe my advisor and my professor wrote very strong letters for me

I’m guessing everyone is still getting their documents in? I know they said they will start reviewing apps on the 1st but the mid-point hasn’t even reached yet.

How long did it take for everyone’s supporting documents to show up on the application status check? I sent my application in over a week ago but I sent my recommendation letters and transcripts WAY before that.

Does anyone know if we HAVE to submit the mid-term report? I thought it was only necessary if you apply during your first semester at a new school.
