Northeastern Humanities?

How strong (or weak) is NEU humanities overall? Specifically the English, Linguistics, and French departments? What about CS (not humanities, I know)?

Also, I'm not sure I exactly understand how co-op works. Would it be impossible to double-major (not dual-major) in unrelated fields, say English and CS, while still graduating in four years?

I keep hearing that it's really not the place to go for humanities, simply because of the pre-professional focus. I was going to be an english/neuro double major at all my liberal arts schools, but NEU's classes seem really bad lol so I'm just doing Neuro (check out their course catalog), maybe doubled up with Philosophy. I think a lot of people seem to do the double major thing with one major they love and one that's more pratical, so you're probably on the right track. To figure out if you can complete the reqs in time, go to the registrar's page, it's really helpful, and you'll also be able to get a vibe from the various departments. Anything that's do-able in 5 years at NEU is doable in 4 because you take the exact same amount of classes, and a lot of people double so I'd say it's probably doable but check the registrar's page to make sure. Why do you want to graduate in 4 years? You'll miss out on great co-ops!
