Hi everyone,
I am an international student and am not able to decide between American University and Northeastern University. My major would be MA in International Peace and Conflict resolution at American and MA in Political Science at Northeastern.
Which university would be a better choice for my major? Also which university will provide me with more internships and most likely jobs after graduating.
My only concern is that Northeastern is better ranked than AU, however AU has been recommended for my program.
Also i have applied to Syracuse University, though I havent received the decision. If I do get through Syracuse would it be better than American and Northeastern?
your replies will be highly appreciated!!
thankyou:)
Both Washington DC (American) and Boston (Northeastern) are large international cities that I think you would be comfortable - not so sure about Syracuse. American gives you the resources of DC which are probably better for your area of study than Boston. I know Northeastern lost the Poli Sci Chair recently since he’s my friend/neighbor but I’m sure the program is strong with all the work he did to improve it before he left.
Well I can’t comfortably say that’s what you’ll have to decide with the information you have. But I’ll add that Northeastern has a large International Student population with a majority from China. American has a much lower percentage of International students but it might be more varied - CollegeData says from 122 different countries. So if you are Chinese you’d definitely fit at Northeastern but if you are say from Belarus or somewhere more obscure you might find a contingent at American
