Northeastern or BU?

I was wondering which is better in terms of education/getting a job after for a business major?

Northeastern.

Northeastern for sure.

To elaborate a bit on my previous post, Northeastern has an excellent co-op program, which means you’ll almost definitely have work experience in your area of study upon graduating, which is great. Right now, it’s harder for a graduate to land a job because there are so many people looking for work who already have experience, and co-op at any university is a great advantage (it just so happens that Northeastern has one of the best co-op programs in the country).

As for academics, look into the specific areas that you’re interested in. Both BU and Northeastern have good academics in general, but look at the rankings of specific programs (though co-op is a fine enough advantage, especially if you’re looking for a job right out of undergrad, that unless you’re going to study something that is VERY highly ranked at one school or the other, that I would go with Northeastern)

Funny, I’m almost sure I saw the same question asked in another thread, and the response was all BU. I don’t think there’s a clear answer.

The OP asked the same question on a BU thread so of course those responders would say BU.

You should visit both schools and talk to faculty and students to get a full picture of each school.

Also, if cost concerns you (or your parents), you need to consider what you get in grants and scholarships. Neither school is worth say $20,000/year more than the other.

When I applied last application season, I got into both BU and Northeastern. I ended up not going to either, so I think I can give you an opinion from an objective perspective…

Both have strong business programs, but I’d have to give the edge to NEU, especially for getting a job. By encouraging you to do a co-op, NEU is ideal for business majors who want to be employed immediately after graduation. Moreover, it is up-and-coming; it has been climbing the rankings over the past couple of years.

In regards to most other academic program, though, I’d give it to BU, just because of its well-rounded academic strengths and its reputation.

Good luck with your decision!
