My student is IN! Got into the Honors program plus a generous merit scholarship.

  • Public Midwest suburban high school.
  • 4.47 W GPA (or around that)
  • 35 ACT
  • NMSF, NHS etc
  • 10+ AP courses
  • Nice set of ECs - science, 2 sports, research, volunteering, and leadership.
  • No idea how the essays were! I had no input and was not privy to the application process.
  • FA - not eligible

My son also from MD got accepted to NUin. AND HE SAID ‘NO’ TO IT ON THE COMMON APPLICATION. I checked again, just to make sure. It was a “no”. What gives?
