Northeastern University 2021 EA

Congrats! Do you have any advice on how to get into the NU in program? I was deferred Early action and really want to be considered for NU in in the regular decision pool. Is there anything on your application that you feel helped your chances? I have a 3.8 weighted GPA and a 1410 on the SAT.

The mail from NU is coming fast and furious - today got a giant fold out poster that is personalized to welcome to the class of 2025 and a letter from a current student. They are really good with the marketing, that’s the truth…

Does anyone know when regular decision comes out?

Likely third week in March. Check the Archives thread in this forum for past years decisions.

Was mynortheastern login info emailed to students who were admitted EA? About how long ago?

By April 1st

My daughter set up her account on Feb 3rd. Received an email from a “do-not-reply” address with title “claim your northeastern university online account now”

maybe yours went to spam?

Thank you. Will check the junk folder.

Hi, my daughter was accepted to NU but didn’t realize she needed to specifically apply for NU IN. Can she still seek co-ops if she enrolls at the school or does she need to go through an additional process/approval?

The question about interest in NUin for first semester was on the admissions application, but some people still get NUin regardless of whether or how they answer the question. NUin and co-ops are separate. She will apply for her co-ops while she’s a student at northeastern. And, she could also apply for regular study abroad programs while at northeastern.

NU In is a freshman fall semester program. The earliest any student would do coop is second semester sophomore year.

By April 1 I believe

By April 1, but past forums indicate an earlier release date. Probably late March

New year goal: Make a Boston area application system just for the Tufts bc bu neu (and wellesly, if female) applicants, since the application pool overlap is insane)
to be honest, bc bu tufts northeastern seem like a wholesome package for “average” Boston application. (yes theses are all FABULOUS schools and Id be so proud to even get into one of these schools), just not Harvard MIT levels yk…

Good luck yay I really loved bc bu neu, sorry not sorry tufts seems a little too nerdyand a little less fun for me.

Hi all, I have an unusual question. My daughter was admitted EA to NUin and her good friend was deferred from Engineering. He randomly checked on his application portal tonight and clicked on his deferral letter which brought him to a screen saying the “The Wait is Over, You are In” and then brought him to a letter saying “dear Max, you are in”- but when he went to click “Next Steps” it brought right back to the homescreen where is still says that he is deferred! So, he is very confused! Any guidance or information is appreciated! Thank you.
