Northeastern University Transfer Fall 2019

Here I’ll copy and paste what my letter says:

"Thank you for your application to Northeastern University. The Admissions Committee has completed its review of your application, and I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you for admission to the Fall 2019 semester.

Admission to Northeastern is highly competitive and with an increased number of applications, the Admissions Committee had to make fine distinctions among qualified applicants. At this time, we have reached capacity for the Fall 2019 term due to the number of applicants who have accepted our offer of admission. The next available opportunity to apply for transfer admission is for the Spring 2020 term.

If you are planning on taking courses during the upcoming semester, Northeastern has an extensive list of equivalent courses to assist with your course selection.

While I understand you may be disappointed with this decision, please know that it is a reflection of our space limitations and the competitiveness of the admission process. We sincerely appreciate your interest in Northeastern University, and we wish you the best as you work toward fulfilling your educational goals."

To me that sounds like they can’t take anyone else because they don’t have room but I could be wrong…

@dogsrcool thank you!

Mine says this:
"Thank you for your application to Northeastern University. After a careful review of your application credentials, we are unable to offer you admission to the university at this time.

Admission to Northeastern is highly competitive and with an increased number of applications, the Admissions Committee had to make fine distinctions among many qualified applicants. While I understand you will be disappointed with this decision, please know that it is a reflection of our space limitations and the competitiveness of the admission process.

We sincerely appreciate your interest in Northeastern University, and we wish you the best as you work toward fulfilling your educational goals."

I’m assuming I am less qualified for neu because I have an entire paragraph taken out from my letter

but is there a possibility that it is because I applied to the business school when i’m currently a chemistry major?

So is it safe to say those that got in got their emails/decisions by now, and those that are still yet to hear an answer are pretty much just waiting on that rejected email?

@StillWaiting2019 I’m not losing hope yet.

I feel like that can’t be right. Maybe they just sent out their definite rejections first so that they don’t keep them waiting. I don’t think they let in enough people during the first wave. I wouldn’t make sense for them to decide to reject everyone else and not send it all at once.

Someone who hasn’t heard back yet should call again and see if its true or not cause like I am gonna have to put a deposit down somewhere else soon.

@transfergirl10 If we call they will just give us the standard “All decisions will be released by June 15th” answer.

Ugh I know… I just want a decision lol …

What is gonna happen to those that are waiting!!

i just called admissions asking about the space limitations if it was a campus wide issue or a specific school wide issue and she said it was a campus wide issue so… good luck to everyone

if they end up just rejecting everyone else over multiple days I’m gonna be so pissed

Good luck to everyone that still hasn’t heard back!

Since last week most of the students got a acceptance email, and this week most of them got rejected. I think they will release mixed decisions next week! 10% acceptance and 90% rejection

Hey yall, just wanted to say I got my rejection decision today. It really didn’t matter in a way because my parents weren’t gonna let me transfer anyways but this is my second rejection from them so still kinda hurts lmao. I think this is a sign I’m good at where I am currently but i can only hope for the best. Good luck to everyone!

@Maryamlord That makes sense to me. I feel like everyone who hasn’t heard back yet was in the “Maybe” pile

Very confused if they don’t have space why don’t they just reject everyone else instead of keeping people waiting… something isn’t adding up lmaoo

Interesting… accepted at UNC-chapel hill, Vanderbilt, Lehigh, and Emory but not Northeastern. Best of luck to all!

I feel like maybe all applicant who got their rejection letters are sophomore transfer. I am applying for junior transfer and still haven’t heard back yet. I am rather pessimistic at this point, but still, good luck to everyone who are rejected/ yet to get a decision!

@Arthurchen It could be a lot of different reasons, I still have hope.
