Hi! I’m a rookie to this forum. I’m going to study music/music industry in Northeastern University this fall as an freshman undergrad. NEU is my third choice when I first applied for colleges, my first is NYU and second is USC. For all three universities, I applied music/music industry/songwriting related majors.
So my question is, how good is the music/music industry program in NEU? I know NEU has the best and one of the largest co-op programs in the US, and many students in NEU have got into Sony, RCA, Universal, and other record companies for co op. What are the advantages I can gain from NEU’s Music/music industry program? I’m planning on becoming a songwriter btw.
And btw, I also plan on transfering to NYU to study songwriting entrepreneur in Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music). Are these two programs (one in NEU and one in NYU) similar?
Why did you post this in the NYU forum?
Like i said… I’m new to this. I didn’t even know there’s a forum for each university. Oopsie
If you were denied at NYU this year what will you do at Northeastern next year that will make you more appealing? If you enter Northeastern already planning to transfer you likely won’t connect with the school…and you classmates.
But that’s what transfer applicants will confront and have to find a way to resolve. There is no guarantee that NYU will completely ignore my accomplishments in NEU, or why would they ask for transfers or accept them? I have a friend who went to a university that was not very competitive or prestigious, and he was accepted by NYU as a transfer. If there is a shot then I’ll take it.
Yes, but if you were judged unworthy by NYU this year what will be different next year. You need to concentrate on your qualifications and stop comparing yourself to other you deem to be “inferior” to you.
I did not deem anyone “inferior.” He is my friend. He didn’t fight hard enough to get into NYU but fought hard enough to transfer into NYU, and I’m proud of him. And he inspired me, because I didn’t fight hard enough to get into NYU as a high school applicant. There are many examples of successfully transferring to NYU. And I do not appreciate the negativity. Maybe as an experienced person, you have your own cultivated insight. But it happens.
