So I’ve been having an extremely hard time deciding which of these schools I should go to. Does anyone have any input, or pros and cons for both? I have visited Chico and i’m going in two weeks to visit NAU which I know will help me with my decision but if anyone has any input on these two schools it would be greatly appreciated!
Flagstaff is one of my favorite towns, college town or not. It’s a High Rockies town, nothing like Phoenix a few hours down the road. If you haven’t been there, I think you’ll love it. It is a great area if you are outdoorsy. Skiing is right behind town. Grand Canyon is less than 2 hours away. If you get a chance, drive the highway (Rt. 89A) between Flagstaff and Sedona. It’s one of the most spectacular highways around. We researched NAU for one of mine and were impressed.
I don’t know anything about Chico State, so can’t compare them. Maybe that’s a better option for you. Just saying, I think you’ll like NAU and Flagstaff.
Lots of pine trees in Flagstaff, its a small but neat place. I have a friend attending there in the fall. Chico State, on the other hand, is my favorite CSU and I’ve visited almost all of them. We have an immediate family member who went to Chico for his undergrad and he was also an international student during his junior year. The Chico campus and downtown flow seamlessly into each other making for plenty to do and countless student job possibilities. Unless you’re looking for big city life, it’s hard to go wrong with either campus.
I think Chico has a much better academic reputatoin and I love the whole College Town thing… Unless there is something specific attracting you to Flagstaff, Chico would be my choice
