The prospects for internships are better at Northern Illinois, and you would be closer to Chicago. Indiana State is located in Terre Haute, which is not as exciting of diverse.

On the other hand, Terre Haute is MUCH better Than DeKalb, And Indy for internships is much easier to get to from TH than Chicago is from DK. Slightly better weather in TH as well. Academically I would take IS over NI.

DeKalb is now a Chicago suburb with an expressway and bus service. Also many large companies are in the west Chicago suburbs within half an hour of NIU. I also think NIU is a better school.

hey! i live in indiana, and the only thing ISU is well regarded for is its athletic training program. to be perfectly honest, a lot of people think it’s a joke. i would go to northern illinois: the opportunities are much better there! good luck!

I would have to agree with the above posters. NIU>ISU.

Born and raised in IL, educator there for 34+years. Have lived in IN since '82. Familiar with both schools. I’ll stick w ISU>NIU.

^^^I have been to Terre Haute enough to know that I’d rather live in Dekalb. Thank you very much.
