<p>The University received 33,697 applications between the early decision and regular decision deadlines.</p>
<p>The acceptance rate dropped one percentage point from last year’s 13.9 percent.</p>
<p>Watson said the class is the strongest in terms of academic achievements and more diverse than previous years. Students were admitted from all 50 states and nearly 100 countries, he said.</p>
