Northwestern chances - low GPA

I'm a high school junior, ad I really want to attend Northwestern for undergrad (engineering). My frosh/soph cumulative unweighted GPA is like a 3.6, 4.1 weighted. I'm in the process of raising it, but, especially if I decide to apply ED next year and they don't see my first trimester senior grades, is this way too low for NU standards? I really have tried to make my ECs/leadership/volunteer/work experience compensate, but I'm unsure. ACT is a 32. If I raise this, do I stand a chance?

A 3.6 is not a low GPA. Its well above average.
