I was just recently accepted into Northwestern University's Summer College Prep Program. The scholarship decisions are going to be sent this week but I'm still concerned about how I'm going to pay for the program; my parents aren't/cannot contribute much money.

So, I'm looking for ideas to finance this program. Any ideas? Working could be possible, but I need to send in my deposit this month.

Some programs will give you fund raising ideas. Depending on where you live (what the weather is), you could have been out doing a car wash, garage sale, etc this weekend. You can contact businesses in your area (particularly ones that you/your family have some relationship with) and share with them what you are doing and why/how they would benefit in giving you money to help you reach your goal.

imo, it’s not worth spending $$ on programs like these.

Thanks for the ideas. And, why isn’t it “worth” spending money on these programs?

You’re just taking undergrad courses with other undergrads. I am of the group thinking there are many better opportunities rather than slaving away with coursework all summer.

But the Northwestern’s program isn’t too pricey to begin with, so I think it’ll be better than what Columbia or Brown advertise.
