Northwestern myth or true?

So I heard that everybody who gets accepted into Northwestern has at least one sport extracurricular on their application? Is this true?

No, not true.

Myth =)
Maybe a lot of them do, but certainly not everybody.

I think every "I heard..." thread should include the source of the information.

not at all. None of my friends there played a sport.
although...the information session I went to did say that about 60% of the students play a musical instrument =P

Amen to that.

I disagree with post #4, as there is no need to stifle genuine inquiries & interest on the internet. Suggestions such as this seem more interested in supressing information than in celebrating open forums and freedom of speech. Plus this is an anonymous site & revealing sources may reveal too much about one's identity, which will most likely hamper open discussions.
In response to the OP's question, this is more myth than truth.

There was no suggestion that any inquiry be "stifled", simply a suggestion that sources be named.

Clearly, if someone wrote "the Associate Director of Admission at Dream University told me x, y, z", the statement would hold more weight than "the guy next door, who graduated from Dream University a while back, told me x, y, z".

two people at my school were accepted without any sports so no..

^ There... now don't worry.
