I was just accepted in to both Northwestern and Williams college and am going to post this in both forums, but I am torn between these two. I want to study political science and I want to know which would be best for this. Of course, Northwestern has the advantage of being so close to Chicago, but how far ahead does that put them? What is the comparative strength of their poli sci departments? I’ve visited both and am in love, but NU is about 2 hours from home as opposed to 12 for Williams
Nice choices! I honestly don’t think you can go wrong, both are good options. Why don’t you visit both for accepted student days and see what you think? 24 hours on campus can be very revealing.
Two absolutely first rate institutions. One is a top national university and the other is arguably the top LAC.
Morty Shapiro had the same choice, and he chose NU, which was NU’s gain and Williams’s loss.
Congratulations - yoy are in a win-win situation.
As an NU alum, I love Morty. He has done an amazing job leading Northwestern. For clarity, Morty was president of Williams for 8 years before coming to NU (and had been on the faculty at Williams for many years before that - in fact he came back to Williams). That is a long-winded way of saying that Morty’s decision to move to Northwestern as a college administrator should not have any influence on you, @notivybound2022, as a future college student IMO.
What ever decision you make, be prepared to pack a lot of purple clothes
