Northwestern RD Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

RD round expected to have an acceptance rate of 3%.

@CaliCash Where did you get the number 3% from?

3% I believe assumes that yield from RD is close to 100% (nearly 900 remaining slots, 36000 applicants).

In practice, NU’s RD yield has been in 35-40% range, which will put RD acceptance rate at around 6.5%. I have done some back of the envelope guesstimates in another thread.

@osuprof silly me lol. I forgot to calculate for that 8-}

Anyone know when decisions have come out in previous years?

^ last year march 17th

did anyone had off campus interview at Northwestern?

R we f*cked?

statistically speaking, yeah kinda

at the end of january have one scheduled

Has everyone gotten their email confirmations?? I still haven’t

@doglover1219 I did. I actually finished my interview as well on December 29th.

what’s the RD acceptance rate?

Does anyone know how much an interview factors into your decision? I’ve heard they don’t consider it at all or that it can make or break you, so I’m just looking to gauge from what other people have heard. I had mine today and I think it went really well but I have no idea how it affects my application.

Do you have to request an interview, or do some alumni contact you automatically?

There was a link in an email & you had to register before 1/7 for an interview.

@jprtaco , really? Is the email from Northwestern admission or from your local Northwestern alumni association?

It was from the Northwestern University Alumni Admission Council. We live just outside a city, so maybe more alum? My son hasn’t actually been contacted for an interview yet, he just registered that he wanted one.

That makes sense. We are also just outside a city, but it’s a city far away from Chicago, so maybe less alums available.

Did any east asian internationals get an interview?
