Northwestern University- HPME

Hello!
I am a high school freshman in a highly competitive vocational technical school where there is a major focus on the sciences and mathematics. I am aspiring to become a doctor and recently learned of the HPME program at Northwestern University. It seems to be a really great fit for my personality due to the goals of flexibility and inquisitiveness. May someone please tell me what I should do to be accepted into the program!
Thank you!

Post this in the Northwestern Thread. Look under the Colleges & Universities tab.

Admission to all BS/MD programs is very competitive. NU’s HPME program is arguably the top program of this nature because of the combination of highly ranked undergrad school and medical school (Pittsburgh, Brown, and Rice/Baylor are some of the other top programs).

Somewhere on CC there is a specialized thread or sub-forum for BS/MD applicants. You can see credentials of those applying for these programs and the outcomes. Besides the obvious (class rigor, especially in sciences, top notch grades and scores, etc.), successful applicants have science research and some level of shadowing experience.

Thank you!
