I know a similar thread has probably been made before, but as a senior trying to choose between the two, why did you all specifically choose Northwestern over the University of Chicago? I know Chicago is considered better academically for my potential major (Econ), but Northwestern is superb academically too and also seems to have a more balanced campus life. Thanks for the help :)

I chose Northwestern for a balance of everything. My Why NU? essay was basically one huge list of balances at NU. Great academics but B1G sports, small campus in a medium sized city, but near one of the best cities in the US. Focuses on academic subjects along with other more niche majors like Journalism, Theater, etc. Students aren’t cutthroat and competitive, but they are still intelligent. Those are some major reasons. Plus a great music school.

Overal Chicago is a bit more regarded academically. However, NU is much more well rounded and is a much more traditional college experience.
