Exactly!!
Hey guys! I got an email saying that I got off the waitlist for Northwestern today. I am from India and but currently live in the UK. It was a personal email from one of the directors in the AdCom and said that they reviewed the additional documents I sent it. I mailed admissions with an updated EC list and CV, a recommendation from my careers head, and an essay which I wrote from scratch on why Northwestern is my dream school. I would highly recommend sending them with additional essays as my essay is definitely what made them change their mind. Hang in there, it will happen if its meant to. Hope that more of you get off the waitlist!
@saiko291099 congratulations!!
@saiko291099 amazing, congrats!
@saiko291099 Great news! What school at NU did you apply to? Would you mind sharing your stats? Thanks.
@londondad Hey, I applied to Weinberg. My stats are pretty normal for Northwestern’s standards (ACT-34, 780, 780 on the Subject tests, I do A levels in the UK so I’m not sure that explaining the subjects I do will be of any help). I’ve put a lot of work into my ECs over the past 3 years, especially volunteering. However, almost everyone who’s on the waitlist has similar stats. I’m more than certain that my waitlist essay was the deciding factor. Best of luck for any remaining decisions!
@saiko291099 Did you get an email that your decision is our or did they call you?
@redrose1234 I got an email.
@saiko291099 When did you send in your waitlist essay?
@voltthorn I sent the CV and the update in the start of April, the recommendation was sent in the middle and I sent the essay about two weeks ago I think.
@saiko291099 Ah, if they’ve already gotten past letters sent in the first week and essays in the middle, then I don’t think I’m getting off the waitlist Thanks for the information!!
@saiko291099 Thanks. My DD is also doing A-levels. Just curious, which A levels are you taking?
@londondad I do Psychology, Math, Chemistry and Biology.
@saiko291099 Congratulations! Maybe I’ll see you around on campus
@londondad there’s a chance you guys might get a NU-grad princess
Just wrote to Northwestern, and they said that they’ve offered admission to some of the waitlist students.
Are they gonna continue offering admissions or is that it?
@redrose1234 My heart just broke because knowing NU, that means it’s kind of it, unless very few of the students accept their admission offers. This is what the email said “Northwestern has offered admission to some waitlisted applicants. Unfortunately, we cannot provide an exact date for when we will release your decision, however we will release all final decisions by the end of June.”
Anyone else hear back?
Alright well its been silent for a while now…
