I understand I don't really stand out much from the thousands of applicants trying to get admissions to these top schools. However, for my essays, I have been working on them, rewriting, and editing with private tutor for the past month.
I am South Asian, and live in Florida........

Any chances for any of these schools is also greatly appreciated. Thank-you for your time....

You may have a chance at Cornell. Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, I'm not so sure. Good ECs, but doesn't seem to have evidence of leadership. Your SAT score is good, but I think many applicants to the Ivies will have better SAT scores. Very good community service hours, class rank is a little low, even if your school is competitive.

Do you know if your school is on the Newsweek top 1000 schools? My school is 106, and it is hard to get a good class rank here. But even if your school is really competitive and it would be higher in other schools, top 20% seems a little low.

I would say you have a better chance of getting into Cornell and Brown. Good luck!

Have you thought about writing your essays about being a black belt? That would make you stand out.

Thanks for the input...................Any other thoughts or chances.............Bump..........

Come on guys, give me some input........You can tell me if I am going to be rejected, I already know I am........., just looking for more insight and things to make my application better..............Bump...........

Bump.........bump................bump..............

At all of your schools, only 6-8% were not in the top 10% of their class, so it's an uphill battle. Add good safeties.

you definitely have a shot at cornell. you need SAT IIs though. good luck!

My bad, I forgot to mention my Sat Two scores.......they are average, not high enough to help me out.......

Math 1-730
U.S. History-750

Thanks for the chance.

Anyways, your SAT scores are very respectable and I like the karate committment and science fair parpticipation. Do you have any leadership posts? If your essay is good, then I'd put you at 50% for Cornell and maybe 30-40% for the rest.

I think you will get into Cornell no problem but the rest might be tough.

I would kill to get your CR score. (actually, i'd like an 800)

50/50 @ Cornell the rest approx 20% chance

I think you have a decent chance at Cornell and you're in if you write a really good essay (if you're doing an interview a good one would really help your chances). It depends on the essay/interview because your grades and EC's are good and your SAT's, while not bad at all, are probably below average for them. However, from what I hear Cornell isn't as into numbers as the other schools at that level so a good essay and/or interview could put you ahead of people with better SATs. The other ones I think will be tough because almost everyone applying there has at least your grades and better test scores. Would you mind chancing me back?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/597399-what-my-chances-gettting-into-cornell.html
